Hi! I'm Chantal

ABOUT ME

My life-long passion for art, science and problem solving found a perfect match in Product Design.

My love of science helps me to transform research, user feedback and business analytics into actionable insights, as well as turn production line and machinery specifications into products beautiful in both form and function.

My passion for art allows me to craft beautiful products and continuously improve our design assets and customer experiences.

My enthusiasm for problem solving aids in my efforts to experiment with and build new systems and tools to improve both our product designs & our design team’s process / workflow efficiency.

Nice to meet you!

FUN FACTS:

  • I’m always exploring at least 2 creative hobbies at a time.
At the moment I’m learning: painting, linocut, writing, film, zines & comics.
  • I’m often found at local parks – lost in the woods with my dogs.
  • I have a new obsession with baking – often foisting surplus baked-goods onto my courageous and supportive coworkers.

Current Work Projects

The work that I’m doing right now:

Designer II @ Mohawk Resilient

I am currently a product designer II conducting design trend and market research, designing customer experiences, and building design tools and systems that improve our design team’s workflow efficiency, design asset quality, and design strategy.

The Design Library

Design & build a holistic system that allows our design team to manage our portfolio, conduct gap analysis, and improve workflow efficiency. The System: A product database, digital asset library, and physical workspace – A single source of truth, a tool for analysis and decision making, and a workshop space for building products & collections.

Manual to Automated: Reimagining Design Asset Production

Identified bottlenecks & manual processes, then implemented new AVA CAD/CAM workflows to automate future asset creation. I built tools, templates, training materials, and quick actions to reduce creation time by 3x – allowing all design team members to learn the new workflows & software.

Work I’ve done previously:

Product Designer @ SimpleC LLC

Managed end-to-end design for a digital health & wellness SaaS product in a small startup environment — designing accessible (WCAG) mobile UX/UI in Figma, leading cross-functional design meetings, managing our product roadmap, organizing the project backlog in Jira, and maintaining brand and marketing assets.

Education

Projects that built my foundation of design skills:

Bachelors of Science in Industrial Design @ The Georgia Institute of Technology

Applied research, rapid prototyping, and testing to develop person-centered, evidence-based design solutions spanning product, interface, and full experience and system design projects.

The Pill Cap

Based on veteran interviews revealing hand-dexterity challenges, I redesigned a pill bottle cap that eliminates the unscrewing task entirely — dispensing a pill into the user’s palm with a single gravity-based motion — and validated the mechanism through multiple rounds of 3D-printed prototyping.

Epi-Connect

EpiConnect is a smart Epipen case and companion app that thermally regulates and monitors epinephrine to prevent premature expiration, while connecting users to a local support network through GPS tracking, emergency alerts, and a “Hero Alert” system that lets nearby volunteers share their Epipens in a crisis.

Snowberry

Snowberry is a real-time posture training system for skiers — a chest and ski-mounted sensor measures torso angle and stance, glove-mounted LEDs give live corrective feedback on the slope, and a companion app tracks performance data across each run.
